HEALTH AND SAFETY |
During 2019 and 2020, the construction works of the Amazon logistics center took place in the Sevillian town of Dos Hermanas, 14 kilometers from Seville. The center, which started operating on the new warehouse in September 2020, occupies a land area equivalent to 26 football fields, almost 180,000 square meters, has a storage capacity of 25 million products and every day an average of 450,000 units are prepared, that pass through 12 kilometers of conveyor belts.
During the construction of the center, OCA Global prevention technicians performed different tasks, starting with the coordination of site health and safety, promoted by the Goodman Group. Likewise, throughout the construction and until the operations phase, they were in charge of carrying out various health and safety audits, aimed at verifying the correct application of Amazon's demanding occupational risk prevention protocols, by the different contractors involved in the work.
The work was carried out in 24-hour shifts, and up to nine OCA Global prevention technicians participated in it, doing different tasks.
